No networking pitches. No preparation. Fish & Bear features timed, unprepared story prompts that invite people to share real experiences inspired by prompts they’ll discover in the moment. We call them story games rather than exercises because they’re fun, there’s no competition, and nobody loses—except those who don’t come. Some stories are hilarious. Others are unexpectedly moving. Every one reveals something beautifully human. You’ll leave feeling like you genuinely know people because you shared real experiences together. In a world of hot takes, polished personal brands, and carefully curated highlights, Fish & Bear invites us back to something timeless: gathering together to tell real stories, listen deeply, and discover just how much we have in common. Nobody knows what story they’ll tell until the moment arrives. That’s where the magic happens. What to Expect Arrive by 6:50 PM We’ll begin promptly at 7:00 PM in Kyo Café, so please arrive a few minutes early to settle in. Story Games Begin We’ll ease into the evening with a few playful storytelling rounds. No preparation is required, and participation is always invitational. One favorite opener? The Story of Your Name. Take a Break Stretch your legs, grab a drink, chat with someone new, or simply let the stories sink in. More Stories, More Connection We’ll continue with a few more story games before wrapping up the evening together. Stay a While Afterward, linger for conversation as we reset the room. Meet the Team Lynn Ferguson | Co-founder Lynn is the creative force behind Fish & Bear’s storytelling methodology and one of the most engaging storytellers you’ll ever experience. An acclaimed writer, performer, actor, and stand-up comedian, she’s spent a lifetime exploring the stories we tell—and the ones that shape us. With warmth, wit, and remarkable insight, she creates the kind of room where strangers quickly become friends. (And yes, she’s also the voice of Mac the Scottish chicken in Chicken Run.) Mark Tweddle | Co-founder Mark brings together the strategy, systems, and curiosity that help Fish & Bear flourish. An engineer with an MBA and an enduring fascination with how people, teams, and organizations work, he blends analytical thinking with deep humanity. He’s equally intrigued by complex systems, collaborative cultures… and his beloved honeybees. Jill Bodie | Facilitator Jill is an ADHD coach and facilitator who is passionate about helping people thrive. She knows firsthand how powerful vulnerability can be, having transformed her own fear of speaking in groups into a love of sharing stories through Fish & Bear.
