How to Build a Regenerative Future for Humanity & Nature

We're living through a convergence of crises that is destabilizing society and our lives. AI and automation are rapidly reshaping labor and power. Climate change is accelerating, and as we write this, causing skyrocketing air pollution from wildfires and extreme heat waves. And underneath all this is an economic system that was never designed for the limits of a finite biosphere – a mismatch that's now driving political and social instability worldwide. It's a lot to hold at once, and it's easy to feel overwhelmed. But what if these challenges share common roots, and a common path forward? Climate Action Club is thrilled to host Tom Chi for a conversation on his latest book Climate Capital, which maps the crises of our time and the cognitive tools we'll need to move forward. Tom is an astrophysicist, designer, and executive who built products with global reach – including Microsoft Outlook, Yahoo Search, Google Glass, and Google's self-driving car program. After years supporting social entrepreneurs in the Global South working on access to clean water, electricity, education, and healthcare, he founded At One Ventures: a VC that invests toward a world where humanity is net-positive to nature. Tom’s unique perspective –rooted in deep technical fluency and his understanding of the systems that shape our world – inform his thinking around how we can reclaim our agency and build the future we want: one where humanity and nature can flourish for generations to come.
